Built in 1840, the Hotel West End with its white Belle Epoque façade is located on the famous Promenade de Anglais,facing the Baie des Anges beaches and the Mediterranean Sea, next door to the Massena Art and History Museum. One of the first hotels to be built along the Promenade,many of the hotel's interior public spaces have been faithfully maintained to their original splendour, with antique inlaid wood furniture, crimson hues, and fluted columns. The 125 guestrooms are individually designed and feature antique style décor with armchairs and tied back curtains framing tall windows. White metal sunscreens can be rolled down on the outside of the windows. Built in closets with mirrored sliding doors have small safes with combination locks. The tiled bathrooms include hair dryers, shower/tub combinations, and overhead spotlights. Rooms have sea or garden views and amenities include air conditioning,cable TV, pay movies, direct dial phones, Internet access and minibars.
Hotel guests receive discounted access to a private section of the beach: Le Blue Beach, with sun chairs and parasols. Guests can enjoy French cuisine and classic Mediterranean dishes and with an Asian influence in the elegant setting of Le Siècle restaurant. Serving lunch and dinner on four intimate levels, sample dishes include Carpaccio of Japanese Marine Radish with Szechwan Pepper. Breakfast is served in La Terrasse, with its large awnings overlooking the Promenade des Anglais, and there is also a bar, open until late evening. Conference facilities include 10 meeting rooms, of which three have sea views; the hotel can cater to groups up to 100. On site parking is available(surcharge).Nice has a wealth of attractions for visitors to enjoy Guests can stroll along the picturesque Promenade des Anglais, buy souvenirs at the Place Massena shopping area, one kilometre away, enjoy an evening at the opera house and explore the historic old town, two kilometres away. Nice Ville railway station is 1.5 kilometres away and Nice International Airport is six kilometres from the hotel. SNCF national train services run to/from the airport every 45 minutes from Nice (Gare Nice Ville). Alternatively taxis are readily available at the airport; taxi stands are located outside both terminals. Motorway tolls may be added to the fare. A taxi to the hotel costs approximately 30 EUR and journey time is 15 minutes.
