Located on the west coast of Barbados, 20 minutes from the island's capital, Bridgetown, is the Tamarind Cove Hotel. Situated in St. James, the Tamarind Cove Hotel is an oceanfront resort comprised of several hacienda style buildings on a pristine beach. Three freshwater pools are located among the hotel's landscaped gardens of hibiscus and bougainvillea. Nearby attractions include the Barbados Museum, underwater reef tours at Atlantis Submarine, and shopping on Broad Street.
The Tamarind Cove Hotel features 105 large, airy guestrooms and suites. Polished marble floors and buff stone walls create a European ambience, while rattan furnishings and balconies or patios echo the resort's Caribbean surroundings. Other amenities include air conditioning and mini refrigerators. Marble bathrooms have deep Roman tubs, separate showers and dual sinks. Luxury ocean view suites also feature four poster beds with canopies.

The room rate at this resort is a Full American Plan, which includes all meals but not beverages and snacks. Restaurants include Sasso, serving Mediterranean and Caribbean specialties for dinner only; Tanjiers, featuring local Bajan and international dishes and open for all meals daily; and the Oasis Bar, serving light lunches, snacks and drinks.

The hotel provides complimentary sailing, water skiing and windsurfing. On site amenities include a hair and nail salon and several boutiques. One of the hotel's sister properties, Crystal Cove, offers tennis courts. A daily water taxi operates between the resort and its three sister properties, all of which are located nearby. Golf is available at two nearby courses, Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland, and at the Barbados Golf Club on the island's south coast. Diving instruction is available for an additional fee.

Please Note:
Beginning March 1, 2004, guests traveling from Canada must have a valid passport for entry into Barbados. The current policy, permitting entry with only a photo ID and a certificate of live birth, will be discontinued for security reasons.
Renovation Notice:
Renovations are set to begin at the hotel on July 17, 2006 with an expected completion date of September 29, 2006. The hotel's South Wing will be closed during this period in order to complete the necessary work and eliminate guest inconvenience. Guestrooms North of the lobby will remain fully operational. Renovations include a new gym installation; Sasso "middle pool" and deck resurfacing; meeting room renovations and business center relocation. As a result of these renovations, Sasso Restaurant will not operate during this period. All meals will be served at Tangiers Restaurant. Weather permitting, beach barbecues will be planned and announced to guests as an alternate dining choice.
